How are the eyelash extensions applied?

A single silk or synthetic lash is applied individually to your natural lash using a high quality adhesive glue. Neither the glue nor the lash has contact with the skin. The application takes approximately 90 minutes. You will be lying down with your eyes closed for this time.

How long do they last?

Your lashes will look gorgeous for 4-6 weeks, depending on the growth of your natural lash cycle.

What should I do before my eyelash extension appointment?

We kindly request that you arrive at the salon wearing no eye makeup and do not perm or curl your lashes before your appointment. You will need to remove contact lenses.

Please note: If you have recently had your eyelashes permed, eyelash extensions cannot be applied until 3 months after the perming procedure.

Are eyelash extensions safe?

Lash damage comes from uneducated stylists offering extensions that are too thick or too long and using excessive amounts of glue. The correct sizes are extremely important.

With correct application from an experienced specialist such as Debbie from Bellavista Studio, semi-permanent eyelash extensions should not damage natural lashes.

Just 24 hours after application your new lashes will be resistant to water, sweat, tears and steam.

Eyebrow embroidery:

Eyebrow embroidery (also known as eyebrow feathering) is a technique that Debbie uses to create hairlike strokes that blend with the existing eyebrow hair to either enhance your eyebrows or to completely create new eyebrows.

Unlike traditional eyebrow tattooing, which can have a slightly harsh block-like effect, these hair strokes are etched into the top layers of the skin using a penlike implement that allows for precision and control. Combined with Debbie's artistic skill, the effect is far softer and more natural looking than tattooing.

Eyebrow embroidery is ideal for anyone with gappy or overplucked eyebrows, sparse or thinning brows or people who just don’t want the hassle of using an eyebrow pencil each day.

How long will they last?

Results vary between individuals and are determined by the nature of each client’s skin type and lifestyle.

They are not permanent, however the effect should last from 12-18 months. In this time they will fade gradually and the hairstrokes will become less defined.

It is recommended that colour is refreshed every 6-12 months to keep the embroidery looking its best.

The procedure

Firstly, Debbie will devise the perfect eyebrow shape to suit your natural features by drawing in pencil onto your eyebrow area.

Once you have decided that you are happy with the design, you will then choose a colour together.

Topical anaesthetic will then be applied to the eyebrow area before the procedure begins. This will reduce any discomfort you may feel.

Individual hairstrokes will then be implanted into the skin in a pattern similar to your natural hair growth. Once completed, after care information and products will be provided.

Your colour will look darker and sharper in the first few days. You can expect 50% or more of the colour to fade over the following week. This is completely normal and is why the second appointment is necessary at 4 weeks. At this point, any adjustments will be made and your eyebrows will be perfected. Often, people will ask to go darker on the second application.
